Event sponsorship available

The Invest and Trade Western Australia (Invest and Trade WA) Event Support program provides funding of up to $10,000 for events that support the promotion of trade and investment prospects for Western Australia (WA). Funding amounts over $10,000 may be awarded if the event is considered a valuable trade and investment opportunity for the state.

Invest and Trade WA is looking forward to partnering with local and overseas stakeholders to secure a diverse calendar of events that promotes Western Australia as a destination of choice for business. The program supports strengthening the connections between our local and international markets contributing to WA's strong economy.

We encourage you to apply if you're hosting an event supporting WA's diverse sectors, from international education; energy; mining and METS; defence; space; health and medical technology; primary industries; tourism and the creative industries. Apply using the online form below.

To be eligible:

  • your event must be considered a business event such as an expo, trade show or conference and can be a hybrid, virtual or in-person, and
  • all documentation must be in English and submitted using the application form.

Submit your application at least 3 months in advance of your event. You will need to include:

  • a list of dignitaries attending the event
  • an event budget
  • a marketing and communications plan (if your funding request is over $10,000), and
  • any relevant letters of support (if your funding request is over $10,000).

Successful applicants

If successful, all applicants will be required to enter into a Sponsorship Agreement with the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation. The Sponsorship Agreement includes various obligations, protections, terms and conditions for both the applicant and the Department. If successful, funding will be tied to the achievement of various milestones including (but not limited to):

  • Receipt of insurance Certificates of Currency
  • Receipt of a Risk Management Plan
  • Completion of an Event Budget and Marketing and Communications Plan
  • Receipt of a Final Event Report and event photographs

It is strongly encouraged that all applicants thoroughly read through the Sponsorship Agreement template, for information purposes only, prior to submitting an application form.

Parties to a Sponsorship Agreement will only be bound by the terms and conditions of the agreement once this has been signed by both parties.
