Education, agriculture, and tourism discussed during visit from Vietnam’s Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
The fields of education, agriculture, and tourism were front of mind in a recent visit from Vietnam’s Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province (BRVT), as coordinated by Invest and Trade Western Australia.
The delegation was led by Madam Nguyen Thi Yen, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Provincial Party Committee and Mr Dang Minh Thong, Member of the Standing Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of People’s Committee.
This was the first visit to Perth since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Plan of Action (PoA) in 2021.
BRVT Provincial Government representatives met with the Hon. Rita Saffioti MLA, Deputy Premier; Treasurer; Minister for Transport; Tourism, to renew the MoU and PoA.
During their visit, the delegates attended a welcome reception hosted by Hon. Jackie Jarvis MLC, Minister for Agriculture and Food; Forestry; Small Business, and visited the South Metropolitan TAFE Munster Campus. The Ba Ria-Vung Tau College of Technology is looking to partner with WA TAFE providers to train Vietnamese students across a range of industry sectors including petrochemical, logistics, electricity, chemicals, seaports and tourism.
Representatives from BRVT’s tourism industry explored the State’s world-class Margaret River wine region and Busselton. The WA agrifood and beverages showcased garnered interest for use by BRVT’s hospitality sector.
The overall tourism experience in the South West impressed the delegation with some expressing interest in establishing tours from Vietnam to WA.
