WA-Korea Networking Function

Last month Invest and Trade Western Australia hosted a networking function for the Korean delegation in Perth.

Among the attendees were the Ambassador of Korea to Australia His Excellency Kim Wan-Joong, Deputy President of Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) Mr Park Young Kyu, Honorary Consul of Korea in Western Australia Ms Fay Duda, Western Australian Investment and Trade Commissioner for Northeast Asia Nicole Fasana, and Western Australian industry representatives from the critical minerals, batteries and hydrogen sector.

Simone Spencer, Deputy Director General of Strategy and International Engagement at the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation acted as MC for the evening.

Attendees heard from the Hon Bill Johnston MLA, Western Australian Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Energy; Hydrogen Industry and Industrial Relations as well as Mr Ki-Ho Han, Chairman of the Korea-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The Western Australian Government is committed to deepening ties with our South Korean partners.

The networking function coincided with the Korean War Memorial Launch and follows the successful mission led by then Premier McGowan to South Korea earlier this year.

During this time, the Western Australian Government signed a Letter of Intent for cooperation with South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
