International delegates gather to learn more about WA’s energy landscape

Energy Exchange Australia (EXA), held in Perth from 11-13 March 2025, was the meeting place for global industry leaders and innovators in the energy sector.
The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science, and Innovation (JTSI) was a major exhibitor promoting how Western Australia is transitioning to a diverse, low carbon economy.
Since 2023, Invest and Trade Western Australia has hosted a delegate briefing alongside the EXA program. This year, international delegates gained greater insight into investment and trade opportunities in WA’s energy sector, and the strategies guiding WA’s sustainable energy transition.
Rebecca Brown, Director General, JTSI provided an overview of Western Australia’s energy landscape, emphasising WA as a longstanding powerhouse of traditional energy industries that also embraces a future defined by renewables, technological advancements, and partnerships that drive a sustainable energy transition.
Ms Brown also introduced attendees to the twelve Aboriginal businesses exhibiting at JTSI’s Aboriginal Business Pavillion, each offering innovative products, services and technologies in the energy supply chain.

Simone Spencer, Deputy Director General, Invest and Trade Western Australia gave a detailed introduction to WA’s economy, followed by Alex King, Executive Director Strategic Policy, JTSI and Scott Davis, Executive Director Energy Transition Strategies, JTSI who provided insight into the State’s energy transition vision and strategies.
The session wrapped up with an engaging Q&A session that showcased the delegates' enthusiasm and strong interest in Western Australia.
