Showcasing WA's advanced science and technology industries to Korean delegation
The delegation was received in Perth with a welcome address delivered by Simone Spencer, Deputy Director General, Strategy and International Engagement. The program focused on Western Australia's Advanced Science & Technology industries and featured a series of briefings on the State’s defence and space industry capabilities, as well as informative site visits to key industry stakeholders.
The visits provided the delegates with opportunities to:
- Discover Woodside’s capabilities in intelligent assets and robotics at Woodside Robotics Lab (Karda).
- Learn about Australian scientific research and collaboration at Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre, through their collaborative efforts in domains such as radio astronomy, energy, bioinformatics and health sciences.
- Observe Chironix's seamless integration of automated and intuitive robotics solutions for the resource, utilities and defence sectors.
The media visit program also showcased the key research being undertaken within some of the State's top universities, including the University of Western Australia’s International Space Centre and Edith Cowan’s University’s Cyber Research Control Systems Centre.
Formal elements of the program were complemented by cultural elements showcasing local produce.
