Driving a strong and diversified economy
The Investment Attraction Fund (the Fund) was established to encourage new investment in Western Australia that will create local jobs and contribute to a more diversified economy.
In 2022, the Western Australian Government launched the first round of the Fund, prioritising identified projects and sectors for strategic development including energy; primary industries; defence; space; health and medical life sciences; international education; tourism, events and creative industries; and mining equipment, technology and services.
In 2023, the Western Australian Government launched the Fund’s specialised New Energies Industries Funding Stream to accelerate innovation, scale-up commercial potential and expand local manufacturing capacity in the following new energies industries: Battery and critical minerals, renewable hydrogen, solar, wind and carbon capture.
